Welcome to video channel for the Laboratory of Atmospheric Processes and their Impacts (LAPI) at the EPFL in Lausanne, Switzerland and its affiliated laboratory at the Center for the Study of Climate Change at the Institute of Chemical Engineering Sciences of the Foundation for Research and Technology Hellas at Patras Greece.
A central focus in our research program is atmospheric particulate
matter (aerosols) and their impacts on atmospheric processes that impact
clouds, climate, air quality and biogeochemical cycles. Studies often
integrate observations, theory and modelling to fully understand the
full range of effects of particulate matter. We are involved in the
development of aerosol instrumentation, and measurement techniques
required to study processes and constrain parameters. Our group and
collaborating partners develop open-source modules routinely used in air
quality and climate models, as well as tools for advanced sensitivity
analysis of large codes and model reduction/data discovery through
emulation and network analysis. We are also heavily involved in field
measurement programs on understanding the climate and health impacts of
ambient aerosol. LAPI continuously expands into other areas of research
and is involved in a number of exciting exploratory projects.
At this channel you will find videos and other material related to research, media coverage, awards, and other activities (including cultural and sports) that invole lab members, featuring the broad range of the lab and its members.
