Synopsis:

Caught between tradition and modernity, Swiss farming is undergoing a transformation. This video explores the adoption of milking robots and standardized barns, technologies that promise efficiency and ease but challenge the essence of traditional farming. Farmers gain time and comfort but lose daily connection with their animals, while the architectural identity of Swiss farms shifts toward industrial uniformity. As landscapes are reshaped and human-animal relationships evolve, we question the true cost of this progress. Is farming becoming an industrial production, or can it retain its cultural and human grounding in an age of automation?
