We continue our exploration of the homotopy theory of chain complexes over a field, explaining why the sets of cofibrations and of fibrations are closed under retractions and why acyclic fibrations satisfy the right lifting property with respect to cofibrations.  We also consider the decomposition of chain complexes into direct sums of "spheres" and "disks".
