Ep 12: Introduction to simplicial sets , Chapter 1(d): Simplicial sets

In this lecture we begin our study of the category of simplicial sets, i.e., the category of functors out of the opposite of the simplex category into the category of simplicial sets. After presenting and analyzing the definition, I will introduce a fundamental, universal example - the standard n-simplex – and explain in what sense it is universal.
